'Twas two days before New Year's
and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring,
not even a mouse;
The diapers were waiting
outside the front door
In hopes the delivery man
would come with some more.
The children were nestled
all snug in their beds
While dreams of clean diapers
danced in their heads.
And Mama in her kerchief
and I in my cap
Had just settled our brains
for a long winter's nap
When out on the drive
there arose such a clatter
I sprang out of bed
to see what was the matter. |
Away to the window
I flew like a flash
Tore open the shutters
and threw up the sash;
And there in the driveway
was standing the van
That belonged to the Tiny Tots
delivery man
As I drew in my head
and was turning around
Up to the doorway
he came with a bound
Took up the old bag
and put down the new,
Turned around, walked away,
and was lost to my view;
But I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight,
"Our diapers are clean and our diapers are white!" |
