Diapering 101
Experience the ease of cotton diapering with modern diapering techniques and supplies, demonstrated by Parent Diapering Experts who have logged hundreds of diapering hours and are excited about passing along "tips and tricks" of the trade that make cloth diapering a very viable option for eco-conscious parents. During this hands-on workshop you'll learn all about cloth diapering, and we'll also introduce you to our compostable diaper service, for those times when single-use diapers are required. No, they cannot be reused like cotton diapers, but, because they can be composted, they eliminate the need to be sent to our already over crowded landfills. We'll even pick them up from you, and take them to a commercial composting facility where they can be safely converted into compost for use in landscaping. So, whether you prefer reusable or single-use diapers or both, this eco-friendly workshop is for you! Space is limited, please pre-register by calling the Boutique.

Infant Wellness Series by Mission College

Infant CPR - Birth to 1 Year
New and expectant parents learn skills in this two hour class that will enable them to recognize basic infant emergencies such as sudden respiratory/cardiac arrest and choking, and how to respond to them. Students participate in hands-on practice using infant mannequins. This is a non-certification class. Taught by Jane Folena, Pediatric RN, Red Cross and American Heart Association CPR Instructor. This two hour class prepares expectant parents for the first weeks at home. Topics include discussion of postpartum health for mom, integrating your newborn into the family, initiating breastfeeding, and techniques to soothe a crying baby. Infant Health, Growth and Wellness
Presented by a pediatric RN, this two hour class for new and expectant parents provides a forum for discussion of topics related to infant wellness. These include medical appointments, immunization schedule, jaundice, fever, cold/earache and allergies. Other illnesses are discussed at parent's request. Resources and information are provided on growth and development e.g. appropriate weight gain, vision acuity, muscular development, communication, teething, feeding and healthy habits to promote infant wellness. Car Seat Inspection Event
Safe Kids Santa Clara/San Mateo and Tiny Tots are partnering to hold Car Seat inspection events. On car seat inspection days, 10% of in-store boutique sales will be donated to Safe Kids for the purchase of car seats for families in need.

Infant Massage 2-hour Workshop
Come learn gentle nurturing touch with your infant.  Enhance and deepen your bond as you help your baby sleep better and grow stronger.  Helps build parents' and baby's self-esteem.  Learn to understand baby cues and development cycles for better communication.  Ages birth through active crawling. Materials to bring:  A blanket & Pillow. Expectant parents may bring a doll for practice. Workshop includes handouts and customized massage oil.

Potty Training Workshop
Not sure how to get started with the Potty Training process. This workshop will focus on common sense approaches as outlined in, Diaper-Free Before 3 by Dr. Jill Lekovic. We will highlight why introducing the potty to your child's routine as early as 6-months of age is a logical approach.
